After Jesus’s resurrection, He
instructed His followers as to what they were to do next.
Specifically, He told them that they were to make disciples of all the nations (Mt.28:19).
Or, put another way… He commissioned them to teach others to apply His Word to every nook and cranny of life.
This is not an easy thing to do.
But with these marching orders, Jesus also gave a promise…
And that’s that He would be with His followers throughout this age of discipling the nations (Mt.28:20).
Unfortunately, this post-resurrection promise is often forgotten.
… We’re grateful that the resurrection is an historical fact… because it
means our faith is not in vain.
But we forget that the resurrection confirms Jesus’s authority as Lord over this world…
… and that with His resurrection comes the promise that He’s with us as we do the kingdom work He’s given us to fulfill.
This ‘promise of His presence’ is something we ought not
forget…
Because remembering that Jesus is with you makes all the difference in carrying out the calling He has for you.
