Consider your legacy...

Yesterday I saw a news clip of a well-known TV personality reacting to the death of Billy Graham.

In her remarks, she gave an impassioned–and sometimes tearful–account of the way her entire family came to know Jesus Christ through Billy’s ministry.

This woman’s story is just one example of millions that reveal the legacy of Billy Graham.

There are few people, of course, that will ever have the kind of broad and deep impact this man has.

But the truth is… we will all have some kind of legacy.

Every one of us will leave our mark and pass something on to those who come after us.

The only question is, what will that legacy be?

Surely, the extent of our legacy will in many ways be shaped by the providential circumstances of our lives.

But, on the other hand…

The most significant part of our legacy depends on the choices we make every day… regarding the kind of people we are… and the things we decide to do.

And, in the end, we must keep in mind that the most worthwhile legacy we can leave is one where we’ve played our part in advancing Christ’s kingdom.

And we can only do that as we yield to His grace and follow Him in whatever place He has us.
