There’s a new superhero movie out called ‘Black
Panther.’
I have not seen the movie. In fact, I wasn’t even been paying attention to it until a friend pointed out something interesting:
The cast is made up of many Nigerian Christians who are extremely open about their faith — even on the movie set.
One cast member described the production environment as ‘almost like church’ as
actors shared their testimonies during breaks and testified to God’s providence during the making of the film.
Quite a different picture than the one we normally get when we think of Hollywood movies!
… And it’s refreshing to see how these movie stars find no shame in bringing God to work.
Which brings up an interesting
point…
It is believed that the next Christendom is to arise in sub-Saharan Africa… where Nigeria lies.
This development is likely because the Christians there make no distinction between the sacred and the secular, as we do in the West.
In other words… there’s no hesitation in seeing God at work
everywhere.
I foresee that day eventually coming to North America… after secularism is shown to be the utter failure that it is.
... After all, the Bible tells us:
"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD,
as the waters cover the sea" (Hab. 2:4).
It might take awhile for that day to get here...
So the challenge for us now is to keep that vision alive while things are dark.
And bring God to our own work as wisely and boldly as we can.
