I can't help noticing...
After a
school shooting, the assailant is usually described in a familiar way...
... as someone who is a loner, scary, intimidating, ostracized, etc...
In other words, a lot like a leper in the Bible.
And it's got me wondering...
We don't know what to do with leper-like people.
We generally want them to just go away.
But what if we did more to love the lepers that come into our lives -- like Jesus did?
Could reaching out and seeking to connect help them
with their troubled lives?
Solving the problem of school shooters is a complicated one.
But I don't think we can go wrong by doing more to enter the lives of the troubled souls around us.
It may be just the thing to keep their personal pain from festering into deep-seated anger and violence.
