God spent 40 years preparing Moses for His greatest
work.
He did this by having him tend sheep for Jethro in the land of Midian.
Having grown up in a palace, tending sheep in obscurity must have been difficult for Moses.
He had to have seen himself as qualified and suited for something much more important.
But God was working on Moses’ character.
And by the time this lowly phase of his life was over, Moses had become the most humble man on the face of the earth (Num. 12:3).
And he was submissive, tuned in, and fully ready to do God’s will.
The point for you and me?
We might think we should be in a better, more significant place.
But God has us each right where He wants us.
What matters is that we’re faithful there, and learn from what He’s got for us right now, today.
