There is this idea that God and
His Word apply to 'spiritual matters' but not the day to day matters of this world.
An offshoot of this thinking is that believers feel comfortable applying God's Word to their church and personal lives but uneasy applying it anywhere else.
But this idea of living in two separate realms -- one where God rules and one where He doesn't -- was proven false long
ago.
The king of Aram once declared that he could defeat Isreal by fighting them in the plain because, "The Lord is a god of the mountains, but is not a God of the valleys."
Yeah, right. As if it matters where God fights His battles.
The king of Aram found this out the hard way a week latter when 100,000 of his soldiers were killed
in one day.
You can read the account of it in 1 Kings 20:22-29, if you'd like.
But the point to leave with is that the Lord is God of the hills AND the valleys.
And because of this you can be confident His rule and Word applies to every aspect of your
life.
