"What does obedience look like today?"

Published: Thu, 12/07/17

Have you noticed?

There isn't much talk about obedience these days.

Even in church... I assume for fear of appearing legalistic.

But obedience is at the heart of life in God's kingdom... and it's essential if we're to experience the blessing He intends for us.

A reading of Deuteronomy 28 makes this obvious.

Yet, God's call to obedience isn't just an Old Testament ideal.

Just check out some of the things Jesus says.

He tells us...

... His disciples are to observe all that He commands (Mt.28:20)...

... and we love Him and are His friends if we keep His commands (Jn.14:15; 15:14)...

... and, those who are blessed are those who hear God's Word and obey it (Lk.11:28).

With words like these, it's wise to start your morning by asking yourself:

"What does obedience look like for me today?"
