My friend Chuck sent me a fascinating article about a missionary in India.
The missionary, David Watson, was ready to give up on his goal of planting just one church in what is known as the "graveyard of missions."
But as he prayed about it, God wouldn't release him from his call.
Finally, after begging God to free him of the call to plant a church, he said to Him:
"I cannot believe that you would call someone to a task without telling them how to do it. Show me in Your Word how you want me to reach these people. If you show me, I will do it."
After this, things began to change.
Suddenly Watson was seeing and understanding things in Scripture he hadn't before... and this gave him the insight he needed to do the work God called him to do.
Eventually, Watson planted not just one church, but 1,000.
And today the network of churches has grown to
somewhere around 10,000.
Amazing!
But here's the point I want to leave with you.
God may have called you to do something, but you have no idea how to make it happen.
If that's the case, be sure and ask God how He wants you to do it and believe that He will show
you.
Don't let a lack of know-how stop you.
'If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him' (James 1:5).
