Does God want something more for you?

All John Calvin wanted was to live the quiet life of a scholar.

But when he passed through Geneva, he was urged to stay and help reform the city.

At first he resisted, but finally agreed.

And for two years he worked with another reformer, William Farel (not to be confused with Will Ferrell) to apply God’s Word to life in this town.

Since then, Geneva has served as an example of how the scriptures can shape an entire community.

But why do I mention it here?

Because like Calvin, most of us would prefer a quiet life out of the limelight.

Yet God may have a more public and demanding role in mind…

… and we should always be open to that possibility, if that’s what He wants.
