If you're at all like me, you've done
some boneheaded things in your past.
Sinful things, too.
And they all have consequences worthy of regret.
But does this mean you're out of commission and can't move forward?
Not at all.
Take Paul...
As a blasphemer, persecutor, and murderer, he had reason to be shackled by guilt.
Yet the gospel set his heart free... and he went on to use the gifts God had given him to change the world.
Because the gospel enabled him to forget what lies behind and press forward to what lies ahead.
We can -- and should
-- do the same.
The point of the gospel is not just to bring us forgiveness and everlasting life.
It's to take children of wrath and make them a new piece of workmanship in Christ.
This is true no matter how much you might feel condemned for yesterday's follies.
So don't let
what's over and done haunt you and hold you back.
Use the grace God gives you today to walk in the good works He has planned for you (Eph. 2:1-10).
