I was talking with a good friend of
mine who has worked in the same manufacturing industry for 40 years and now runs a successful company.
He's a faithful man, and sees his work as God's appointed way for him to serve others.
In the conversation he noted how much people need encouragement as they face "the grind" in their own callings.
So
true.
No matter how sharp you are, the daily grind of... showing up... solving problems... dealing with repetitive tasks... hustling... and giving your best... can really wear you down...
... so much so that if you're not careful, it can deaden your soul and suck the life right out of you.
So how do you stay encouraged and fresh as
you face your own daily grind?
One big way is to recognize that God is right there with you in the midst of it.
Psalm 139:7,8 tells us:
"Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there."
Well... if this is true -- and no doubt it is -- God is also with us in the grind.
And if we look for Him there, He will surely show us the ways He is there to sustain us and meet every need... as we seek to do our work for Him.
