What true heroism really looks like...

Published: Wed, 10/18/17

You may have heard it said:

"Everybody wants to be the hero of their own story."

I think that's pretty much true.

Everyone wants to shine...

... and deliver... come through... play their part...

... and NOT flub up.

But here's the thing...

We need to understand what true heroism really looks like.

You see...

We have all bungled our lives in some form or fashion...

So we are not worthy to be called heroes.

Yet our story is not over...

By God's grace, we enter into His story as we turn from ourselves to follow Jesus.

And as we follow Him -- the only true hero -- we are able to act heroically wherever He leads us.

And in so doing, we play our part in His story well.

True heroism comes as we think less of our own story... and more of the one God is writing... in both our lives and the lives of those He calls us to serve.
