Tip for developing a dominion-oriented prayer life...

Published: Tue, 10/24/17

I've been meaning to tell you...

About six months ago I attended a seminar on prayer.

The seminar was presented by Paul Miller, who is the author of 'A Praying Life' and the director of the ministry, seeJesus.

At the event I learned a system for praying that I've found very useful.

And that's what I want to pass on to you.

The system involves using prayer cards for the different areas of your life.

The idea is that you make a card for each area -- such as personal challenges, marriage, family, friends, work, neighbors, church, community involvement, etc. -- and then pray for each area regularly, making notes along the way.

I mention this system for a couple of reasons.

For one, it's really simple.

There's nothing all that revolutionary about writing prayer needs on cards. But when you do it systematically, it becomes a very simple way to improve your prayer life.

The other reason I mention this system is that it serves us well as we seek to fulfill our role in the Dominion Mandate.

God's call to rule and cultivate our little portions of the world is not something we're to do on our own.

It's something we're to pursue with complete dependence on Him through prayer.

If you do not have some system for prayer, I recommend this one.

Just get some 3 X 5 cards and start writing things down you know you should be praying about.

Then pray through the cards over time... and watch what God does.
