It's Time for a New Reformation (What part will you play?)

Published: Fri, 09/15/17

Isn't it time for a new reformation?

It sure seems like it to me!

This year marks he 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.

That Reformation -- we must remember -- is the most significant event of the last half-millennium... because it gave rise to the liberties and prosperity enjoyed by Western Civilization.

Today, of course, Western Civilization is in decline... and so are the liberties and prosperity -- as well as the shared values -- that went with it.

But the darkness we currently experience need not be permanent.

It may just set the stage for a new reformation... that ends up making the world brighter than before.

Yet for this to take place, we need a spiritual awakening.

Reformations -- at their foundation -- are spiritual movements... movements that transform individual lives before they end up transforming cultures.

That's the way it was with the last great Reformation...

God's grace totally transformed  the life of a monk named Martin Luther... and then Luther's faith set in motion a complete transformation of the Western world.

Any new reformation will take place in a similar way.

God will give individuals grace to see how Christ's lordship applies to all of life... and as those apply the obedience of faith in the place God has them it will bring us closer to the kind of new world order God has in mind for us.

The only question is: What part will you play in a new reformation and the coming of His kingdom?
