Over the years I've made it a practice to collect
quotations.
That's because I love the way a good quote is able to enlighten, encourage, and motivate.
Take these words from Joseph Boot, the founder of the Ezra Institute for Contemporary Christianity...
He recently said:
"We live in a pre-Christian age, not a post-Christian age. The age of true Christian culture is ahead of us."
Wow...
In a day of widespread pessimism,
these words provide just the splash of cold water to the face we need!
I know...
Some are thinking...
"Yeah, right..."
"... I thought we lived in a post-Christian era... with the Church's best days behind her..."
"... Could a more thoroughgoing Christian culture really be in our future?"
I believe so.
When Jesus came to redeem the world, it wasn't just to save souls for eternity.
It was to "make all things new" (Rev.21:5).
Besides...
In the Lord's Prayer, Jesus told us to pray,
"Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven" (Mt. 6:10).
Since Jesus directs us to pray in such a way, shouldn't we expect a greater realization of His kingdom to actually come about?
Sure, there will be periods of darkness and unbelief and trials.
But the future is bright.
The best is yet to come.
