I wasn’t planning on preparing for a hurricane this
week.
But since Irma is threatening Florida, and I happen to live in Florida, preparing is something I need to spend some time doing.
Events like these serve as a good reminder, though:
Ultimately, God is the one writing the story… and He can write it as He sees fit.
We may have
our own idea of how our lives should work out each week, but He’s the one who directs how our lives actually unfold.
And that means a week where we’ve planned a lot of production might just turn out to be more about preparation and preservation.
And that’s okay… because as the one who oversees every part of our lives, He knows how each part fits together in the way that’s best for us —
and for the advance of His kingdom.
So… if unforeseen events have crept into your life and interrupted you plans, there’s no need to fret.
The details of how He plans to bring His redemption to the world are all part of His story.
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to
those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
