You don't have to observe much politics these days to realize:
"It's all about the narrative."
That is... it's all about politicians (or parties, or activist groups) telling a story that furthers "their agenda."
Watching this play out can be infuriating...
... as you see all the lies and deception being used to 'control the narrative'... in order to assume the position of 'good guys' while demonizing the 'bad guys.'
But here's the thing...
Though this kind of posturing might bring some short term advantage, it doesn't last...
... because most of
the time the narrative that's constructed isn't based in reality.
And that's why it's so important to stay connected to the grand narrative God reveals in His Word.
According to that narrative:
- God created mankind to rule and cultivate the earth in fellowship with Him.
-
But mankind rebelled against its Creator, and now seeks to live and rule independently of Him.
- Yet, there is hope because Jesus Christ has come as the King of kings and Lord of lords to reclaim creation for its original purpose.
This is the true narrative... and it will endure to the end.
And if you can keep this narrative in mind,
it will go a long way to help you keep your head clear... and protect you from the false narratives of our day...
... all while you pursue your own role in the story God is still writing.
