Trusting God's Sovereignty When it Comes to Who He Made You to Be...

The other day I saw Pastor John MacArthur answer a young woman who asked him how she should relate to her sister… who she said was “transgender.”

I thought MacArthur handled the question beautifully.

He applied a lot of pastoral tenderness toward the girl… but was also unflinching about the truth.

He shared — correctly — that the whole transgender issue has become a massive deception… and to be transgender is really impossible…

… because God made us male and female — with X and Y chromosomes — and that can’t be changed.

And then he went further… and got to the real heart of the issue… by explaining that to embrace transgenderism is a rejection of God’s sovereignty over who He made us to be.

Absolutely right...

... And there are plenty of souls who are confused about their sexual identity that would benefit by simply accepting who God made them to be.

But you know what?

You don’t need to be perplexed about your gender to benefit from an acceptance of the way God made you.

Who hasn’t wished they had different gifts or abilities or circumstances than those God has dealt them?

But we complete our life’s purpose the most — and with the most contentment — when we believe that we’re fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps.139:14)…

… and trust that God — in His sovereignty — has created us each perfectly for the specific place He has for us in His kingdom.
