"Follow your passion" has become a
mantra these days.
Behind it is the idea that if you do what you're passionate about, you'll be in the place that's right for you...
... and you'll find fulfillment and success...
... and, of course, the money will follow.
Sounds appealing... but is it good
advice?
Not really.
Because it tends to make us obsessed with ourselves...
... leading us to stress over whether we're really doing the right things with our lives...
... and that's not what we're supposed to be doing.
Instead...
... we're to "seek first His kingdom and His righteousness" (Mt.6:33).
So...
Rather than worrying about what you're passionate about, be consumed with the contribution you can make to move the kingdom forward...
Figure out how to
best use the time, talents, and treasures God has given you... to bring His transformation to the world.
In the end, that's the most fulfilling thing you can possibly do with your life.
And that in itself ought to stir up a bit passion.
