There are certain places in the Bible that really get my attention.
One of these is the story of the Israelites at Kadesh-barnea (Dt.1:19-46).
Kadesh-barnea was to be the launching point for Israel to enter Canaan.
And it was from here that God's people were to receive the land of promise He had prepared for
them.
But Israel did not enter the land.
They grumbled, distrusted and disobeyed instead.
And in response God turned them back to a life of wandering in the wilderness... where they eventually perished.
Kadesh-barnea provides a lesson that's easy to understand but tough to
apply.
There are times God will have us in a place where He wants us to believe Him in a big way and move forward.
Sure, moving forward may require a lot of faith...
... but the alternative is to wander and fall short of the life He has for us.
It's possible God
has you in a Kadesh-barnea moment right now.
If He does, recall all the ways He has carried you and shown Himself to be true...
And step forward in trust and obedience as you receive what He has for you next.
