The
Bible clearly tells us how to be prepared for the work God has for us to do.
Just check out these couple verses:
"Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a
vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work" (2 Tim.2:20-21).
Now, notice a couple of things here...
First, there are all kinds of vessels in a house... gold, silver, wood, clay, etc... because they all have their specific functions...
... and this shows us
we all have our place in the spiritual house God is building.
But notice something else...
Those vessels that have an honorable use have to be clean...
... so if we're going to be ready for the good things God has in mind for us to do, we have to cleanse ourselves.
Now, the way
life works... we don't know ahead of time all the good ways God wants to use us... as these things tend to unfold over time.
But... we do know we need to stay ready.
And that means staying clean by keeping a repentant and believing heart...
... because this is the best way to be prepared for whatever He may call you to
do.
