It seems that
every day there's a new story circulating about racism.
For example...
A poor high school girl is now under fire for wearing a beautiful Chinese dress to her prom.
Some people are calling her racist because she wore the dress even though she isn't Chinese.
Hmmm...
... I wonder if I'm racist because I like Mexican food?
All this nonsense is getting kind of old.
But it's out there, and those who want to extend Christ's kingdom should be
equipped to bring grace and truth to the subject of racism whenever they confront it.
So here are a couple of ideas that might be helpful...
For one... there will always be those who thrive on creating division.
The Bible calls them 'sowers of discord' and you're best off avoiding them.
Then second... biblically speaking, there are really only two races that matter: those
who are in Adam and those who are in Christ.
Those who are in Adam are inclined to see things along racial lines, with one race being better than another.
But those who are in Christ realize that all humanity is need of the grace found in Jesus... and that it's in Him the racial barriers of our world fall away (Gal.3:28; Eph.2:14-18).
These couple of ideas can help you navigate today's racially charged environment.
And as one who is in Christ you can be an agent of healing in our divisive times.
