About those end of the world predictions...

I see that once again someone has predicted the exact date Jesus is going to return.

And it happens to be today!

I do wish this kind of thing would stop.

Countless predictions about Christ's return have been made already -- and they've all been wrong.

And I'm sure this one will be wrong too.

Scripture tells us the day Jesus comes back is not for us to know (Mt.25:13)... so to even suggest a time is foolish.

Making speculative predictions like this only hurts the Church's credibility... as it sets those up who make them to be false prophets.

Besides that, these predictions distract from the work the Lord has given us to do.

Jesus tells us we're to occupy until he comes (Lk.19:13).

That doesn't mean we're to preoccupy ourselves with 'when' He's coming back.

It means we're to be busy with the activities He calls us to fulfill... and leave the timing of His return to Him.
