One of the things I've discovered while leading Made for Dominion Ministries is that people can struggle with the word 'dominion.'
I guess it sounds too much like dominate, and that's scary.
But dominion is not a dirty word.
God's first instruction to mankind was to 'have dominion' (Gen.1:26).
In the Psalms we see He's given us dominion over the works of His hands (Ps.8:6).
And, God's intended outcome of the faithful use of our gifts is that His glory and dominion would prevail forever and ever (1 Pet.4:10-11).
All of this should help you view the theme of dominion more positively.
But here's what I believe is the clincher...
Pursuing dominion is not about forcing or oppressing... it's about serving.
And the way you serve best is by getting in the world of others... bringing the benefits of your gifts to them.
This is what Jesus did when he became incarnate.
And by living as the Suffering Servant, He became the ultimate dominion man.
So don't let the thought of dominion frighten you.
Instead, see how you can use what He's given you to bring His gracious rule to the world around you today.
