Here's an overlooked Bible verse that's perfect for these days.
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good (Rom.12:9).
Think about it.
Regarding love...
Our culture is awash in a definition of love that demands complete acceptance and permissiveness toward anything -- no matter how false and perverse.
But genuine love is to pursue what's best for others according to what is true... even if it requires unpleasantness and personal sacrifice.
Regarding evil...
Our culture seeks to either seduce you into evil or get you so accustomed to it you just ignore it.
But a biblical approach to evil is to hate it -- which includes not being afraid to identify evil as evil, and speak of it as such.
Regarding what is good...
Our culture is putting you under enormous pressure to call what is evil good and what is good evil.
But you must resist this, by holding on tight to what is good and reflecting it in your conduct before a watching world.
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good (Rom.12:9).
Definitely a verse to remember.
