From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force (Mt.11:12).
Today's Christian commonly finds himself on the defensive, wringing his hands over evil, hoping he isn't overcome by it.
But this isn't the posture Jesus took when He walked the earth.
Jesus was a man on a mission... intent on bringing redemption to our world.
And this led to a life of showing mercy, speaking truth, and ultimately sacrificing Himself.
So Jesus was not passive. And He didn't let the presence of evil deter Him either.
He knew advancing His kingdom required going on offense and taking action.
And as Jesus had such an agenda, so should His followers.
His kingdom will not come if His people only play defense.
