It will never get the attention of Christmas and Easter, but it would do us good to remember and observe the Day of Pentecost.
Pentecost is the 50th day after Easter -- which was yesterday -- and it marks the coming of the Holy Spirit on the people of God.
By sending the Spirit, Jesus began His work of transforming the world through His followers... and if you are born of the Spirt you are a part of this mission.
It's by the Spirit you've been given at least some gift to build up others for the sake of Christ's kingdom.
And you can be assured your God-given work will accomplish His purpose... when you do it in reliance on the Spirit rather than your own human effort.
"‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts" (Zech.4:6).
