I find some of Jesus's most powerful sayings are the little remembered ones.
One of my favorites is the phrase "not so with you" (Mk.10:43a).
Jesus said this when He was telling His disciples about how the rulers and great men of the world lord it over others.
He wanted His followers to realize the kingdom of God works differently...
... with the truly great ones focused on enlarging their service to others, not increasing their power over them.
In a world where self-promotion and power-grabs are the assumed way of getting ahead, the little phase -- "not so with you" -- can really help keep you on the right path.
