God created men to be outward facing... so they'd be in a position to cultivate the big 'ole world around them for Him.
(This is fairly obvious from the fact God didn't send rain upon the earth until He made someone to cultivate the ground -- Gen.2:5).
When men lack vision or a sense of mission for developing the world around them, they turn inward.
This inward focus leads to a lot of dysfunction as guys:
- become consumed with themselves
- brood over their sins, failures, weaknesses, etc.
- and often end up micromanaging their marriages and families
Note well: nobody likes being around guys in this place.
In fact, the guys in this place don't like being with themselves!
The good news is...
Jesus came not only to forgive sins, but restore men to their outward focus toward the world.
And when men realize this... and they approach life with a mission... it reverses dysfunction -- at home, work and society in general.
