When I first heard Rush Limbaugh refer to himself as "talent on loan from God," I thought it was a bit blasphemous.
Perhaps it was because he said it with such conviction!
But today I don't think there was anything pompous about it at all.
Limbaugh recognized he had talent. Nothing wrong with that.
And He acknowledged his talent came from God, as he should.
But here's the best part...
Limbaugh used his talent to the utmost, right to the end of his life.
And that's something everyone should ditto.
As Jesus taught in His 'Parable of the Talents,' we've all been given various talents...
... and whether we've been given a little or a lot, we're to use it for the Master (Mt.25:14ff).
Now few will have the talent or legacy of someone like Rush Limbaugh.
But everyone can take whatever they've been given and faithfully make the most of it.
And the passing of Rush Limbaugh reminds us we need to make the most of it while we can.
Because no matter what talent we have, it's on loan from God.
