With all the demands for social justice, it's important to be able to tell the difference between social justice and biblical justice.
After all... God commands His people to make sure there is justice in the land.
He says, for example:
You shall appoint judges and officers in all your towns that the Lord your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment. You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous (Dt.16:18-19).
These couple of verses reveal what sets biblical justice apart...
Biblical justice is concerned about what is righteous.
It's not twisted.
It's not partial to any group.
It's not corrupted by money.
Rather, it has to do with righteously applying God standards to all people without partiality.
Seeing the connection between justice and righteousness will take you along way when it comes to sorting out the many demands for justice in our day.
Just remember...
True, biblical justice always takes into account what is righteous in God's eyes.
