Ever have something that seems to be taking forever to get done?
I've been working on a project I thought would have been finished weeks ago, but it just hasn't been coming together.
As I was praying about this, the Lord reminded me He has His own timetable.
And He does!
Consider the history of His own people...
430 years in Egypt.
40 years in the wilderness.
70 years of captivity in Babylon.
And then remember the waiting done by specific individuals...
Joseph waited 13 years as a slave and prisoner.
Abraham waited 25 years for his son Isaac.
And Jacob 14 years for his wife Rachel.
It all goes to show... the Lord is less concerned about efficiency than we are!
And there's good reason for it too...
It's in the midst of delays God schools us.
He teaches patience and dependence.
He gives wisdom and insight.
And He shows us He's writing a story bigger than ourselves.
So when you're tired of waiting, don't forget the Lord isn't done working.
He's just taking His time.
'A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps' (Pr.16:9).
