The U.S. Senate is holding hearings to confirm a newly nominated Supreme Court Justice.
Like similar hearings, some senators are anxiously asking the judge whether her personal views would influence her rulings.
This question never seems very fruitful, as everyone knows the reason certain judges are put forth in the first place is because of their personal views.
In fact, you can't separate a person's views from their decisions if you tried.
The issue... especially as far as judges are concerned... is whether they'll be fair and impartial.
So it seems it would far better to ask questions to discern whether a nominee fears God, loves the truth and hates covetousness... just as Moses was directed several millennia ago (Ex.18:19-22).
If we made this our criteria, we'd not only get good judges, we'd solve a whole lot of our 'social justice' problems today.
