There are people right now who are so anxious about possible changes coming to our country they can hardly focus on anything constructive.
In this scenario it's worth recalling... this isn't the first time people have had to deal with an uncertain future.
Back in Jesus's generation there was plenty of upheaval taking place that was making people worry.
Jesus addressed this anxiety in His most famous sermon, the Sermon on the Mount -- and He did so by talking about birds!
"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" (Mt.6:26).
If you're at all worried about where our country is headed, take some time looking at birds.
Seriously!
God doesn't want you living in fear. He wants you assured... if He can take care of our feathered friends, He can take care of you.
Besides...
If you're anxious about the future, how can you focus on the work He's given you in His kingdom today?
That's where he really wants you spending your time and energy.
And He promises if you "seek first His kingdom and His righteousness," He'll take care of the rest (Mt.6:33-34).
