He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need.
Eph.4:28
I almost got scammed yesterday.
I won't go into all the details. I'll just say it involved a fraudulent check someone tried to pass on me for work I agreed to do.
Fortunately, there was enough that raised my suspicions to keep me from the trap.
But I was angry somebody targeted me for theft and wasted my morning.
As the day wore on though I cooled off wondering... what kind of twisted soul spends their time and energy coming up with elaborate schemes to defraud people?
Why don't they put their effort and ingenuity into something legal and constructive?
Surely they have talents they could apply to something good!
Then it occurred to me...
There's a little scammer in all of us.
Who doesn't want to cut corners, dodge responsibilities, and do end runs around God's design?
And that thought made me want to double down -- by God's grace -- on living my life for His kingdom.
And I hope this incident of mine would do the same for you.
God has given you talents and opportunities to use to bless others in His world today.
Go use them.
Overcome evil with good.
