I've noticed from conversations lately more people seem to be wondering if 'the end' is near.
As in the end of the world, and the return of Jesus Christ.
With all the trouble right now, such thoughts aren't surprising.
But is the end really near?
Personally, I don't think the end of the world is upon us -- there's too much work to do to disciple the nations (Mt. 28:18-20). And we have a long way to go before we see God's kingdom on earth as it is in heaven (Mt. 6:10).
But... I do believe we're seeing the end of something -- we're seeing the end of the West's experiment of trying to maintain a civilization without God.
And that experiment has failed. Secularism is dying.
The only question is, what's coming next?
Will it be a new godless totalitarianism led by coercive politicians, or will we have a new birth of freedom and a return to godly principles?
The answer, I believe, depends a lot on God's people...
... and whether we are humbling ourselves, praying and seeking God... while turning away from the lies of our generation and discovering how to obey the whole Bible in all of life.
