This continues my series on good coming from COVID.
This COVID lockdown sure is wearisome, isn't it?
I mean it's even taken the fun out of going to the grocery store.
I used to enjoy going to the store as a diversion... finding enjoyment in seeing if any good ice cream was on sale, chatting with a deli clerk, and trying to make the person at the checkout register laugh.
But now going to the store is just business. No smiles to exchange. Just get in and out and take your mask off.
It's become wearisome.
But there's some good in this if you're open to it.
You can make a habit of going to Jesus with your weariness.
Jesus said, 'Come to me, all you who are weary and weighed down, and I will give you rest' (Mt.11:28).
He could make this promise because He's always with us, to carry the burden and refresh.
And in this way He takes away our weariness, so we can stick with the work He's given us in His kingdom, no matter what's happening in the world.
