When the coronavirus arrived months ago, I started keeping a list of the good things happening as a result.
Sounds kind of crazy, but I figured since God works all things for good (Rom.8:28), there must be some positives to find... so I started looking.
Today, my "Good from Coronovirus" list has just under thirty items on it.
I thought I'd start sharing some of them with you, as they might encourage you.
Number one on the list is that COVID-19 has made us live with less presumption.
Before COVID-19, it was easy to assume one day would be just as another... indefinitely.
There's a danger in this.
It can make you proud... and assume you have more control over your life than you really do.
The Apostle James warns about this when he says:
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit. You do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that” (Jas.4:13-15).
The last months have made these words very real to us.
We don't know what the next year will bring. Or even next week.
And that's okay.
Because it pushes us to become more dependent on Him. Which is a very good thing.
Nobody knows what the days ahead will look like.
But He has given you today.
And you can know for sure He wants you to use it to play your part in His kingdom, leaving tomorrow to Him.
