All the rewriting and erasing of history going on sure makes us vulnerable.
Because when people become disconnected from their past, they're easily led down paths of self-destruction.
The Bible anticipates this when it warns us regularly to 'remember.'
"Remember the days of old," the Bible says (Dt.32:7).
In remembering the past, we recall the good and the bad. Along with God's judgments and mercies.
With eyes of faith, we're able to see history as His Story.
Any attempt to separate ourselves from this story is to cut ourselves off from God Himself, the source of every good gift.
Now is not the time to be forgetting and disconnecting from our history.
It's time to recover it and learn from it... reviving our need for faithfulness... and renewing our foundation for the future.
'Remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other..." (Is.46:9)
