The comet Neowise has got a lot of people looking up at the sky shortly after sunset.
This is great, because looking at the night sky has a way of giving perspective and helping you recall your place in God's world...
... it reminds us not only that there's a sovereign Creator, but that He's given us something to do.
The Psalmist describes it this way:
"When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?
You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet..." (Psalm 8:3-6).
From this passage comes some simple advice...
Whenever you need to be refreshed in your mindset and calling, go outside after dark and look up.
