In 2005 the U.S Supreme Court ruled courthouses and government buildings could no longer display the Ten Commandments.
This followed a similar decision in 1980 when the Court ruled the Decalogue was forbidden in public schools.
These decisions officially removed God's Law as the standard of law and justice in the land.
And today we are reaping the fruit... because biblical laws matter.
Only the laws of the Bible give us an eternal and true standard of what is right and just.
Biblical laws also serve as a universal restraint against evil. And without them, every man eventually does what's right in his own eyes.
Further, the laws of the Bible reveal our need for Jesus Christ... who through His death and resurrection is the lone source of forgiveness and reconciliation.
Without biblical laws we're left with politicized law... class-based justice... coercion and violence. That's it.
To build a society with true justice -- where everyone has the opportunity to fulfill their calling and prosper -- we need to recover the standard of God's Law.
Just as King Josiah did (2 Kgs 22).
Because biblical laws matter.
Biblical. Laws. Matter.
