During a time of crisis in Israel, David wondered in his heart something you've likely pondered as well:
"If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" (Ps.11:3).
Good question!
What can be done if all that has held us together is being undone?
Though the plea seems to come from a heart of despair, the Psalmist answers with hope...
... The Lord's still enthroned in heaven (v.4).
... He's testing the righteous and the wicked (v.5).
... Evildoers will not go unpunished (v.6).
... And the upright will experience the Lord's favor (v.7).
So if you share David's concern about crumbling foundations, there's hope... and your course of action is clear:
Be steadfast.
Trust God and pursue righteousness.
But you, O man of God, flee these (evil) things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. (1 Tim.6:11).
