I've been working on a big project which I'm excited to tell you about in due time.
While working on this project, it's occurred to me how common it is to live according to the first Adam rather than the second Adam -- even as believers.
To live in keeping with the first Adam -- the guy in the garden -- is to live life alone, independent from God... constantly managing guilt, shame and fear... and doing so without much hope.
To live in this first Adam is to live mainly with an eye toward surviving.
It's depressing and sad, and not the way we were meant to live.
But to live in keeping with the second Adam -- who is Jesus -- is completely different.
To live in Him is to live as a child of the Father, co-ruling your part of the world with God, as an heir to the King.
Living this way brings freedom and assurance... with lots of faith, hope and love.
The default position of our unbelieving hearts is to live in accord with the first Adam, leading to darkness and death.
But with believing hearts we live our days in the second Adam, leading to fruitfulness and life on into eternity.
Which Adam you're going to follow is a choice you have to make every day.
