I've never been a fan of bumper sticker theology.
Some of it is downright cringeworthy ("Warning: In case of rapture, this car will be unmanned").
But most of the time it just tends to give the wrong impression.
Take the slogan 'Let go and let God'...
Now if by letting go and letting God you mean surrendering to His sovereignty and allowing Him to work out His will in your life... well that's biblical.
But if you take the saying to mean we're to sit back and just let things happen in a fatalistic 'whatever will be will be' kind of way, that's not right.
God indeed reigns over all things -- but He calls us to rule with Him.
And during the first week of creation, God set forth a pattern when He took what He had made and reconfigured it... separating light from darkness, heaven from earth, and water from dry land.
So in a similar way -- as His image-bearers -- we're to take hold of what He puts before us, and work it and develop it with Him.
We're to be active, not passive...
... engaging the world by His grace... overcoming evil with good... and bringing His truth and beauty to bear wherever He calls us.
