If you've decided to fast this Good Friday you may be wondering, "How am I gonna get through this?"
The question reminds me of a story about Jesus...
Jesus had been busy ministering to others and His disciples urged Him to eat something.
Jesus replied by saying He had food to eat they didn't know about.
The disciples were bewildered... had someone brought Him food?
But Jesus revealed He had something else in mind when He said, "My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to accomplish his work" (Jn.4:34).
In other words... Jesus's zeal to see His Father's kingdom come on earth gave Him energy that was superior to that which comes from food.
This idea can really help when going through a fast.
Instead of thinking, "Man am I starved," use the occasion to pray God's will and work would be done... in your life and the world around you.
To help you with that, I've created a little prayer guide you can access here:
