A report claims the average American has been streaming eight hours of content per day since the Covid-19 lockdown began.
Wow, that's a lot of screen time!
There are different explanations for this, for sure...
Could be boredom.
Might be a way of escaping anxiety.
Or, all the time spent watching videos may come from believing life is on hold... and we may as well kill time until ordinary life returns.
But something to keep in mind...
As long as we're breathing, life is never on hold for us...
... and we should never seek to run out the clock with the time that makes up our lives...
God is always present, active, fulfilling His purpose in us...AND giving opportunities to learn, grow and trust.
If our hearts have become calloused because we're upset about our lives being turned upside down, we'll miss the opportunities God is giving us right now... to take new approaches and do new things.
But if our hearts are open, we'll see and understand the gifts He has for us... even while forced to stay at home.
AND we'll find the things He's showing us are better than binge-watching Netflix.
