If there's a Bible story to recall today I think it's got to be the story of Joseph (Gen.37-50).
You remember the story of Joseph, right?
The one about the favorite son of Jacob, thrown into a pit by his jealous brothers and sold into slavery...
... and then to make matters worse, poor Joseph was falsely accused and put into an Egyptian jail.
It all seemed so bad.
But God was at work in the details...
... and eventually, through what seemed like one tragedy after another, Joseph ended up the second most powerful man in Egypt... and able to save both the nation and his entire extended family from a devastating famine.
Joseph's story reminds us of God's providence -- the truth that by His holy power and wisdom God governs everything -- right down to the smallest elements -- for our good and His glory.
And though we might not like the particulars of our own circumstances, we can be assured... God is doing something through them that will bring an amazing and positive outcome.
So don't fear.
Look, pray... trust and obey.
