One of the things Jesus accomplished by His resurrection was to affirm the physical world.
After all, it was His physical body that was raised from the dead.
And the raising of His body marked the beginning of a new creation in which we now live.
God created the world good. (He says so in the first chapter of the Bible.)
Sin corrupted the world and brought death.
But starting with Christ's resurrected body, all of creation is being renewed.
So the physical world isn't something inferior or unspiritual.
And it's not something to be escaped or shunned.
But it's to be transformed by the grace of God at work through His people.
And we partake in this transformation as we live in the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead.
'If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come' (2 Cor.5:17).
