Last night our son Andrew was married to his beautiful bride Shelby.
As you can imagine, the ceremony didn't go as first planned.
But it was still wonderful.
There was something surreal about having a small group of dressed up loved ones meet on a remote patch of Florida wilderness for this unrehearsed solemn and joyful occasion.
Yet there was something so right about it too.
The setting sun shining through the trees... the birds singing loudly... and a young couple pledging their lives to one another all pointed to an important truth:
Even in difficult times, life goes on.
And it goes on in hope...
... knowing that though this fallen world brings its hardship and disappointments, God is redeeming all of His creation so it would fulfill its original design.
And marriage is an ideal picture of this promise...
.... as it symbolizes God's covenant-keeping grace and love -- making this not as bad a time for a wedding as you might first think!
