Ponder this for a minute...
Which of the following is the LEAST common response to the coronavirus threat?
(a) worrying
(b) buying extra toilet paper
(c) consuming constant news updates
(d) praising God
The answer is d.
There's plenty of a, b and c going on, but not a lot of praise to God.
But praising God is one place where the coronavirus should lead us.
Not for the virus itself -- that would be twisted -- but for what it reveals about how fearfully and wonderfully He has made us.
Think about it...
Every day our bodies face an onslaught of viruses, bacteria and other microbes.
Most of the time we handle these dangers just fine... because God has equipped us with remarkable immune systems.
Sometimes our immunity comes up short and we get sick... yet even then we almost always reclaim our health and get on with the business of living.
Yes, some people die from these things.
But in general -- despite our fallen world -- the trend over the course of our lives is to cope, recover and thrive.
So while corona remains a threat, support your immune system by doing things like: washing your hands, taking vitamin D and getting your rest...
... but don't let it stop you from praising God for the way He's made you... and giving yourself to whatever He's entrusted you to do.
For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. (Rom.11:36).
